METAL & JEWELRY
Pyramid Box
The brick design of this box was created by drawing the pattern directly onto the brass using a Sharpie and then etching the metal in ferric acid for 45 minutes.
With its walls attached by hinges on three sides, the Pyramid Box is completely reversible. This allows it to easily transform from a box into a display stand.
When inverted, the Pyramid Box serves as a display pedestal for the glass piece set in its center.
Jailhouse Cuff
This cuff’s design references old-fashioned jailhouse window bars, meant to create a sense of security. The overall shape of the cuff is inspired by a keyhole one might find in the same old prison.
The dimpled surface of the cuff was achieved using texturing and forming hammers. The smooth, matte finish was created by sandblasting the aluminum.
Fly-on-the-Wall Brooch
Inspired by the phrase “fly on the wall,” this brass piece is meant to be either hung with clear string or worn as jewelry.
The pattern on the wings was created by taping off negative spaces and then powder coating them.
Both the wings and handmade pin back are soldered on, as are the stone settings holding the glass eyes in place.
